Food! Riiighttt. The most important meal after a gym sesh and what your registered dietitian told you was super-important after an hour of calorie burning. But how to fit that in in an already crazy morning? And what if you hate preparing food???
I have got you covered! I learn that many of my clients are not very food savvy. And let me tell you: That is OK. This is what I am here for! To help make food and healthy living easy for you.
Here is a super-quick smoothie recipe with only 5 ingredients to whirl together before you head out that door:
RECIPE: Post-Workout 5 Ingredient Smoothie
¾ cup frozen berries
½ frozen banana (Tip: cut in half & freeze separately for banana halves ready to use)
1 cup milk of choice (soy, almond, rice or cow)
1 handful baby spinach
1 scoop vanilla protein powder of choice OR ½ cup silken tofu OR ¾ cup Greek yogurt
Place all ingredients in blender and whirl together until smooth. If the consistency is too thick, add water!
Practical Tip: If you want to try the mason jar trend, but are not sure if carrying around things in glass will work for you, try using an old spaghetti jar. Wash it well, and pour your smoothie in there. Portable, practical and if you break it - you can get plenty more! Or, maybe it’s a sign that the jar trend just isn’t for you... :)
